National Seminar on Goods And Service Tax

Sahrdaya college of Advanced Studies, Kodakara organized a National Seminar on the currently burning topic “Goods and Service Tax “under the egis of Department of Commerce and Management Studies on 24^th July 2017.It was inaugurated by Dr. CA Santha Kumar K at 10 am, Dr. Vijayakumar presided the function as the chief guest. Dr. Vijayakumar spoke elaborately and explicitly on GST and its implications, its influence and its effect on market economy of India and impressed the audience deeply.Dr. Santha Kumar illustrated with practical instances regarding the merits and demerits of implementing GST in the Indian monetary system along with its effect upon the job opportunities of the educated unemployed youth of India.Dr.  K J Antony – The Principal, Dr. Rani M J – Vice principal, Dr. K B Pavithran, Dean of Commerce and Management Studies felicitated the function. The function was concluded by vote of thanks delivered by Programme coordinator Ms. Ligi George (Department of Management Studies) by 1.00pm.Prior to the inaugural session, final year BBA students gave a brief idea regarding the past tax systems prevailed in our country and the post scenario after implementation of GST. The session was guided by representatives of five study groups of the class and also distributed an article on GST prepared by Dr. C.A Santha kumar k. The session was wound up by a concise quiz on the topic and the winners were recognized.
