The NSS unit of Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies conducted program “HARITHAM” on the occasion of International Forest Day on 22nd March 2021 at the Garden Area in the college. It was conducted under the initiative of NSS coordinators Mr. Akhil Anto , Ms. Sindhu Thomas and Ms. Agnes Benhur. The objective of the program was to celebrate the World Forest Day and to be aware about the importance and significance of forests in nature. The program started with a prayer by Krishnapriya ( NSS Volunteer). It was followed by a welcome address by Meenakshi, NSS volunteer. Executive director of SCAS Rev. Dr.Devis Chenginiyadan conveyed the Presidential address. Principal of SCAS Dr. Jenson P O felicitated the function. Followed by him were the felicitation of vice principals of SCAS , Dr. Rani MJ and Dr. Mathew Paul Ukken and Finance officer Fr. Shaju Chirayath .After the felicitation the honorable chief guest Dr. Binu TV , Assistant professor and NSS district coordinator At Joseph’s College did the inaugural address . She inspired and motivated the NSS volunteers with her words. Her example of referring everyone as seeds that are sown which can grow as a responsible and concerned citizen was uplifting. After that, the planting ceremony began in which all the dignitaries planted a sapling each followed by NSS volunteers. The programme was concluded with a vote of thanks by Akshay, NSS volunteer.
