Postgraduate Department of English, Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies, conducted one day National Webinar on the topic “Collective memory in Indian Diasporic writing and cinema”. The webinar was conducted on 16.02.2021 from 10:30 am onward on Microsoft Teams. Dr.Ishmeet Kaur Chaudhary, Assistant Professor, Central University of Gujarat was the resource person. Ms. Sheena Sarah Winny, Head of the Department officially welcomed all present. The webinar was inaugurated by, Dr.Fr. Devis Chenginiyadan, Executive Director of the Institution, with an intriguing message on diasporic writing and cultural studies. The session commenced at 10:45 where Dr.Ishmeet leads an informative session which emphasized that ‘memories’ establish a connection between the collective and individual past, between heritage, and history by bringing to light her own personal experiences and memories. The session concluded at 11:55 am, after which was opened for discussions, where many participants raised their queries on the topic. Dr.Ishmeet took a keen interest in answering the queries raised by the participants. Dr.Jenson P.O, Principal initiated the concluding remarks and expressed his gratitude to Dr.Ishmeet. Ms. Maria Joshy, Webinar Coordinator officially sounded the note of gratitude. The webinar concluded at 12:15 pm. 95 delegates actively joined the webinar.
