Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies is a prestigious undertaking of Irinjalakuda Diocesan Educational Trust (IDET) managed by Syro- Malabar Catholic Diocese of Irinjalakuda. It has Mar Pauly Kannookadan, Bishop of the Diocese as its Chairman, and functions with the blessings of the Founder Chairman Mar James Pazhayattil, Premier Bishop of the Diocese of Irinjalakuda.

It envisages at endowing to the Nation, a zealous group of dedicated and industrious citizens.

” To mould a new generation in integrity of virtues and in maturity of values and to form them in true wisdom according to their God-given talents for the good of the human beings by means of the noblest activity of study and by way of the most gracious quality of friendship.”

Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies was formally inaugurated on Saturday 31 December, 2011 by Honourable Chief Minister of Kerala Shri. Oommen Chandy and presided over by Mar Pauly Kannookkadan, the Bishop of the Diocese of Irinjalakuda and Chairman of Sahrdaya Group of Institutions; in the presence of Bishop Mar James Pazhayattil, the Founder Chairman; Shri K. M. Mani, Minister for Finance, Govt. of Kerala; Shri. Thomas Unniyadan, MLA of the Constituency of Irinjalakuda; K.P. Dhanapalan, MP of the Constituency of Chalakudy; Shri B.D. Devassy, MLA of the Constituency of Chalakudy and Msgr. Sebastian Maliekkal, the Vicar General of the Diocese.

Affiliated to the University of Calicut and situated in the purlieus of Kodakara, Sahrdaya began with four programmes offered on campus id est B Sc. Psychology, BCA, B Com (Finance) and BBA. But unlike others, we net the intakes complete and filled, rather a rare achievement. Adding more to joy, the first batches came out with flying colours with three of our programmes achieving centum. The very next year saw addition of undergraduate programmes in Computer Science, English as well as Bachelors in Commerce, specialized in CA. The student strength soared with not a seat left unfilled as a pointer to the credibility and reliability of the visionaries behind. Today as we celebrate the tenth annum, we have 20+ programmes on board that cater to the aspirations of 2700+ students.

Our pedagogical innovation SEEP (Sahrdaya Employability Enhancement Programme) equip the students with improved competitive faculties. We also offer Add-on courses on Soft skills as well as Personality development with no fail and determination.

Multidimensionality in approach and impeccability in standards help us mould and transform the Sahrdayans into professionally competent and socially sensitive individuals. Academics complement with co-curricular activities here at Sahrdaya, since we aim at all inclusive transformation of a student. We have a dedicated Sports Academy, whereby professionals are recruited from respective fields to give intensive training to our students and thus, we regularly position ourselves within the range of the top five in Calicut University D-Zone Competitions.

The whole of Sahrdaya imbibes with heart and soul the real sense of the vision of our patron Bishop Mar Pauly Kannokadan and Chairman of Irinjalakuda Diocese Educational Trust (IDET). As we celebrate the tenth annum, we remain faithful to the intellectual tradition put forth and seek to be an enlightening force for a world deeply in need.
