Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies has always gone the extra mile in demonstrating social commitment and the Covid 19 vaccination drive is one among them. Aiming to put a stop to the threat of the third wave of Covid 19, Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies, in collaboration with Apollo Adlux Hospital, Angamaly, organized a Vaccination Drive on the campus for the students, staff and the public on 30th July 2021.

The responsibility for the smooth conduct of the inaugural function was entrusted to Human Excellence Department.  The first meeting to discuss various committees for the formal inauguration was held on 27th July, 2021 under the headship of Mr. Savio Fernadez, HOD, Human excellence Department.

The committees are as follows:

  1. Invitation in charge: Ms. Sindhu Thomas
  2. Brochure Designing: Mr. Rinto Paul
  3. Programme Chart: Ms. Rosalind Manjooran
  4. Stage committee: Ms. Savitha Vijayan & Ms. Priyanka Verma
  5. Technical in charge: Ms. Caroline Antony
  6. Seating arrangement and Discipline: Mr. Satish Nair & Mr. Sebastian Joseph
  7. Compering: Mr. Adarsh PR
  8. Reports on the inaugural session(Website, News Paper & Formal) : Ms. Sinimol PJ

The formal inauguration of the Vaccine Drive was done by the Kodakara Grama Panchayat President Mrs. Ambili Soman. The College Principal Dr. Mathew Paul Ukken welcomed everyone. Executive Director Rev. Dr. Devis Chenginiyadan delivered the presidential address. Dr. Rani MJ, Vice Principal expressed the vote of thanks. Vice Principal Dr. K.L Joy, Finance Officer Rev. Fr. Shaju Chirayath, Apollo Hospital Manager Mr. T G Anilkumar and Assistant Professor Mr. Adarsh P R., appreciated everyone through their felicitations. Dr. Paulson from St. John’s Hospital Parappukara gave instructions and suggestions regarding the after vaccine care. College Counselors Ms. Rosalind Manjooran and Ms.Sindhu Thomas encouraged everyone to follow the immediate health care tips.

A total of 455 were administered with the ‘Covishield ‘vaccine. July 30th, 2021 in SCAS history marked great solidarity with the tireless and timeless effort that our State Government has implemented to prevent the disastrous spread of Corona virus.
