Environment Day Celebration
The NSS Unit of Sahrdaya College of Advanced studies organized an Environment Day celebration on June 5, 2024, with a series of events aimed at promoting environmental awareness and sustainable practices. The event was inaugurated by SCAS Executive Director Rev. Dr. Devis Chenginiyadan, who planted a tree on the college premises as a symbol of commitment to environmental conservation. In his keynote address, Rev. Dr. Devis Chenginiyadan emphasized the importance of sustainable development, urging the college community to adopt practices that ensure the well-being of future generations. Principal Dr. Joy K.L. gave the principal’s message, in his message he highlighted the pivotal role that young people play in safeguarding the environment and encouraged proactive involvement in sustainability efforts . Vice Principal Dr. Karuna K. spoke about the college’s ongoing green initiatives and the necessity of incorporating eco-friendly habits into daily routines. Finance Officer Fr. Anto Vattoli discussed the economic and environmental benefits of sustainable living, motivating the community to support and engage in environmental projects. Following the inauguration, NSS volunteers engaged in agricultural activities within the college premises. This initiative aimed to promote hands-on learning about sustainable agriculture and the importance of cultivating a connection with nature. The event began with a welcome talk by student secretary Aryanandha and the celebration concluded with a vote of thanks by Jayakumar K., the Programme Officer, who expressed appreciation to all participants, volunteers, and dignitaries for their support and contributions to the success of the event
