As part of the IIC Calendar activity, a field visit to the incubation centre of Adi Shankara Institute of Engineering and Technology (ASIET), Kalady was organized for the registered students of SCAS on September 2, 2022 at 10.00 a.m. for a team of 14 students and 2 faculty members. Mr. Ajay Basil, the in-charge of the incubation centre led the students to various companies, units and centres inside the Adi Shankara Technology Business Incubator (TBI), supported by Kerala Start-up Mission, in association with Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation Ltd. (KSIDC). The team visited the technological team of u-farm, a hydroponic farm that uses AI to grow plants. Followed by that, the team visited the automatic liquid filling machine and the technical team of i-cube designs, where the team interacted with the members of the company regarding the designing, R&D and marketing of prototypes developed from innovative ideas. They were introduced to various branded products developed by the students in the college like Lenore automatic water level controller, automatic sanitizer dispenser, paper bag cutting machine, etc. Mr. Ajay also led the students to IDTA Drone lab, Fab lab and machine tools lab to familiarize the students with the tools and machines like laser cutting machine, 3D printing machine, PCB & CNC milling machine, etc. Team also interacted with the Virtual Event Management Platform (VEMP) team.
