The Department of Management Studies, SCAS, conducted a one-day workshop on Airport Operations Management followed by a visit to Airport Terminals in the afternoon in Cochin International Airport on 22JUNE2022 for the Final year BBA students as part of the add-on programme.
The Programme was organized by CIASL Aviation Academy and training wing of CIASL Aviation Academy. CIASL is the academic and training wing of Cochin International Aviation Services Limited (CIASL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Cochin International Airport Ltd (CIAL).
The previously registered 52 student delegates were taken to CIASL campus in the Sahrdaya College bus accompanied by two academic staffs of the department, Mr, Nabeel PPM (Faculty of Aviation), Ms. Sneha Sasidharan (Class Animator), and the College bus operated by Mr.Joshy. The College bus started from the SCAS campus at around 8.30AM as planned.
The team of delegates reached the CIAL academy at around 09. 45AM and were directed to the Seminar Hall of CIASL. The scheduled programme was inaugurated by Mr. BABURAJ, Director, CIASL. He welcomed the Sahrdayans to the CIASL in his note. The First session started at 10.15AM by Mr. P. BABU (CIAL, Air Cargo Complex, the resource person of CIASL academy). The topics for the first session of the workshop included presentation about CIAL, the country’s first greenfield airport built under public private partnership and which is a trendsetter and a pathbreaker in aviation infrastructure development. The details on the Infrastructure, Operating airlines data, etc were discussed in detail. The first session ended by 11.45 AM for a tea break.
The Second session of the work shop started at 12.00PM by Dr. Joemon Pappachan, Associate Professor / Program Coordinator, CIASL Aviation Academy. It was a very informative session on aviation detailing before entering the airport. The session also covered areas of Airport operations (basics), passenger handling procedures etc. The presentation focused on the operation area of the airport handling which is needs of the industry. The second session ended for a delicious business lunch organized by CIASL at 01.30PM.
The one-day training program provided wide spectrum of learning experience to the aspirants of aviation. It included class room-based training / interactive sessions at CIASL Academy followed by a visit to the airport terminals along with training resource persons. Both the class room session as well as the Airport visit included topics on Airport operations, Airline operations, Airport Passenger Handling, Airline & Airport Security operations, Airport Ground Handling Equipments, Air Cargo handling procedures, Service quality at airports handled by resource persons from CIASL and CIAL.The Delegates attended the programme are certified by the CIASL Academy
