Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies, in collaboration with the IQAC and the Human Excellence Department, conducted a faculty Development programme on4th December 2021 in the Seminar hall. The registration process began at 9.00 am. The programme officially began with the invocation followed by the welcome address by the Principal Dr. Mathew Paul Ukken. The Executive Director Dr. Fr. Devis Chenginiyadan addressed the gathering. The occasion was graced by both the Vice Principals. Mr. Justin Thomas, a renowned trainer was the resource person for the day. After the introduction of the resource person, Ms. Sheena Sarah Winny, HoD, Department of English expressed her gratitude to the gathering and wished a
good training session ahead. The training session began with a formal introduction of the trainer. The topics were Oneness with the organization, stress management, particularly in the backdrop of pandemics and the transition of teaching from online mode to offline mode. He was more on the practicality of the teaching learning process. Some useful tips to manage stress were demonstrated by the resource person. It was an interesting session.
At about 1.10 pm the session was dispersed for lunch. All attendants were provided lunch by the college. The post-lunch session began at 1.45 pm. It was mainly meant for the faculty who joined the college from the academic year 2018.The topic was mainly on effective Class room management, team building and communication, both verbal and nonverbal. After the session Ms. Anagha from the HED obtained the feedback from all participants.
After this, Fr. Shaju Chirayath, Finance manager SCAS interacted with the participants and detailed the HR policies of the college and the transport facilities available for both the faculty and students. Ms. Jayamol James, Asst. Professorfrom the Department of CS&IT conducted a session on Linways and briefed the participants about the use of it in the academic system of the college. Mr. Akhil Anto, Asst. Professor from the English department briefed about Department of Value Education (DOVE) and the distinctive position our college occupy in Calicut University in the arena of Value education. Later Dr. Devis Chenginiyadan, Executive Director SCAS and the Principal Dr. Mathew Paul Ukken jointly addressed the gathering and interacted with the participants. Finally, Mr. Satish Nair (In charge HoD) from the Department of Human Excellence endered the vote of thanks and the programme came to an end at 4.00pm.
