The department of Human Excellence organized a 2 days programme on 28th and 29th October, 2021 for all the first year students of B.A. and BSc batch to provide guidance in their journey towards professional success. The programme commenced with a silent prayer followed by the welcome address by the Executive Director, Rev. Fr. Dr. Devis Chenginiyadan. The first session was conducted by Rev. Fr. Dr. Binoy Nereparambill, Assistant Professor, Sahrdaya Institute of Management Studies. He very well explained the importance of setting goals in life and shared tips to stay focussed on the goals to achieve success. Thereafter, Fr. Naugin Vithayathil and team from Sahradaya Lumen Academy conducted an informative session on the preparation strategy for Civil Services exam. The session helped the students gain an insight about the relevance of joining Civil Services, its exam pattern, and preparation style. The programme progressed with a session on ‘Time Management’ conducted by Ms. Priyanka Verma, Counsellor, SCAS. The students were taught effective ways to make the most of their time to achieve maximum output. The next session was about the College rules and regulations. Rev. Fr. Shaju Chirayath, Finace Officer, SCAS shared information regarding the transportation and fee payment. Thereafter, Ms. Caroline Antony, Assistant Professor, SCAS gave a motivational talk to the students explaining the importance of keeping positive attitude in life. The programme was followed by another insightful session by Ms. Sindhu Thomas who explained the relevance and need of Counselling services being provided in the College.
The second day of the programme commenced with a silent prayer. The first session was about ‘Cyber Crime Awareness’. Adv. Jijil Joseph, Advocate High Court of Karnataka shared extremely useful information about the various forms of Cyber Crime and he also gave important tips to help one stay safe in the world of technology. The next session was conducted by Fr. Augustine Kallely, Professor, Mangalapuzha Seminary, who talked about the ‘emotion of Love in the late adolescent stage’.
The programme concluded with an interactive session wherein the students shared their positive feedback about the ‘Future Focus’ programme.
