Sahrdaya Innovation Contest was organized by Institution’s Innovation Council, SCAS and K. P. Pathrose Vaiyan’s Kandamkulathy Vaidyashala. Cash prize Rs. 5000/-, Rs. 3000/- and Rs. 2000/- for first, second and third position were sponsored by K. P. Wilson, Managing Director, K. P. Pathrose Vaidyan’s Kandamkulathy Vaidyashala.

The contest was conducted in 2 phases. In the first phase (registration) students were given a Google form to share the details of their innovative ideas. (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1dUwfiU8_vVmcVsfxhnwFPensI8Jv63k5-UqEAxqRG58/edit?usp=drivesdk)

Students who shared the ideas were asked to present the same through online meeting on October 6, 2021 at 2.30 p.m. (link: https://meet.google.com/fuy-euwe-ykv). Out of the 9 students 7 presented the ideas. (One participant had net issues and the second Contestant didn’t present). The judges were:

  1. K. L. Joy, Vice Principal and Head of the Department of Chemistry
  2. Karuna K. Nair, NAAC Coordinator and coordinator of Professional Academy
  3. Savio Fernandez, Head of the Department of Management and Human Excellence.

(A session with Mr. Renjith M., Chief Technical Officer and Faculty of Department of Computer Science was conducted on December 1, 2021 in the Audio-visual room at 2.30 p.m.). In the meeting, the judges gave necessary suggestions and guidelines for the participants to develop their ideas further and interacted with the students. Ms. Carolin Antony, Convenor, IIC, SCAS gave the concluding remarks. The meeting concluded at 4.00 p.m. with an official vote of thanks by Ms. Preeji K. P., Vice President of IIC, SCAS.

Ms. Parvathy G. Menon, President of IIC, SCAS and innovation ambassador interacted with the students and provided them a rubric by Forge, for further assistance of their ideas.

After the 2 phases of the Sahrdaya Innovation Contest, Neena Shine of III Semester B.Sc. Geology is decided to be awarded second position and Rohit P. S. of III Semester B.Sc. Computer Science secured the third position. As there was no entry good enough for the first prize, it was discarded. The prizes were awarded to the students on February 26, 2022 on the occasion of Decennial Celebration of the college.
