French National Webinar -‘ Cultural Milieu: The French Vista’ 2017

In connection with the French National Day, The Western Eatern Language Department organized a national seminar on the topic ‘ Cultural Milieu: The French Vista’ on 5th July 2017. The resource person for the day was Madame Sylvie Falcone, Professor, Alliance Francaise, Nice, France. The programme started at 10 am with a prayer. The head of the department Ms Sinimol P J welcomed the gathering. The programme was inaugurated by the Executive Director Fr. Titus Kattuparambil. He expressed the importance of learning French in the current globalized world. Mr Vivin Varghese, Assistant Professor, introduced the resource person. Madame Sylvie Falcone introduced the French world to the students. She detailed the life of French people and their culture. She even explained the different everyday usages used by us which originated from the French language. She concluded the session by introducing the different French gastronomy. Ms Nisha K, Programme co-ordinator  delivered the vote of thanks.
