Department of Geology & IQAC of Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies, Kodakara In association with Department of Geology & Environmental Sciences Christ College, Autonomous, Irinjalakuda conducted student exchange program and one day visit to Geology museum on 7th November 2022 at Christ college.
Dr. Linto Alappat (Head of the Department of Geology & Environmental Sciences Christ College, Autonomous, Irinjalakuda) welcomed the gathering and give brief introduction to various rocks and minerals of the museum. Dr. Jolly Andrews CMI (Principal, Christ College Irinjalakuda). presided the session. Prof. Davis K J, Head of the Department of Geology, SCAS also welcomed the gathering and give some contribution to their newly inaugurated museum. Dr. Jolly Andrews CMI given felicitation to the programme.
Dr. Linto Alappat, Mr. Tharun .R (Assistant Professor); and Mrs. Reshmi (Assistant Professor) has described various rocks, minerals fossils and gem stones present in the museum and its characteristics. He also added identification properties of different rocks and minerals. After that a seminar was took by 3rd year B.Sc. geology students (Aeshah Rafeeque & Haripriya M. S) as a part of an active MoU existing between both departments. The seminar was attended by the Geology students and faculties of Sahrdaya College and Christ College. The seminar and the geological museum visit was given an insight to the students and teachers of Geology and it boosted their enthusiasm. The Seminar was attended by 60 participants from both Sahrdaya College and Christ College. Finally, the seminar was concluded with Vote of Thanks by Assistant Professor Mrs. Reshmi (Assistant Professor, Christ College Irinjalakuda).
