IIC in collaboration with IQAC conducted “‘Viksit Bharat@2047- Voice of
Youth”‘on 11/12/23. The programme commenced at 10:30 am. One of our student
representative introduced the resource person and she gave a motivation session for
1.30 hours. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday virtually addressed the ‘Viksit
Bharat @ 2047: Voice of Youth’ workshop. He told the nation to take a pledge,
“Whatever I do should be for a developed India”.Underlining their role in engaging
with the youth and shaping them for making India a fully-developed nation, lieutenant
governor V K Saxena on Monday urged the head of academic institutions to establish
special cells in their campuses for the purpose.Talking to over 500 academics, who
were hosted at Raj Niwas to listen to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s virtual address
on the vision for Viksit Bharat@2047, Saxena said it was important for the youth to
share their dream and vision for a developed nation. The suggestions and ideas given
by the youth would -lead us in making a new and vibrant Bharat as it was the youth of
today who are going to be the decision-makers and architects of India of 2047,” he
added. Launching ‘Viksit Bharat@2047: Voice of Youth’, an initiative that aims to
provide a platform to youngsters for contributing ideas to the vision of a developed
India by 2047, the Prime Minister said India’s youth power was both the “agent” and
“beneficiary” of change.Vice-chancellors of central and state universities, along with directors of institutions in Delhi, participated in the programme. After the PM’s speech, a panel discussion and a question-answer session were held with the
academics on the theme of ‘Empowered Indians’.A brainstorming session was also
held in which the academics presented their ideas on the vision. The discussion
revolved around the themes of education, economy, health and technology for growth
and happiness as development. The ideas will be taken up by students, Raj Niwas
stated.While acknowledging the significance of a digital presence in today’s
interconnected world, we must tread cautiously. The pursuit of competence and genuine
contributions should never be compromised by the allure of a virtual spotlight. It is a
delicate balance that requires a strategic focus on core responsibilities while leveraging
the benefits of technological advancements.Let us aspire for a future where competence
takes precedence, where the true value of genuine contributors is recognised and
celebrated. In this envisioned future, substantive work leads the way, and our collective
efforts propel us towards the realisation of a cleaner, developed India. Vote of thanks
