The Central Library organized a Quiz Competition on June 13, 2024, in connection with the Reading Day Celebration, aimed at promoting the joy of reading among students. As part of the celebration, a quiz competition was conducted, attracting participation from both undergraduate and postgraduate students. This report provides a detailed account of the event, including the structure of the quiz, participation details, and the outcomes of the competition.
The competition commenced at 10:15 AM at the Central Library. The event began with a warm welcome from the Librarian Dr. Shaji B., who greeted all the dignitaries and participants. The executive Director Dr. Fr. Devis Chenginiyadan inaugurated the competition, followed by felicitations from the Principal Dr. K.L. Joy, Vice Principal Dr. Karuna K., Mrs. Asha Sudheesh, Mr. Renjith M. and Vigin Thruvambattil. Their encouraging words set a positive tone for the event.
A total of 49 students participated in the quiz competition. These participants represented various classes and were a mix of undergraduate and postgraduate students. The students were divided into teams, with each team consisting of a maximum of three members.
The quiz competition was structured into three main rounds, with each round comprising ten questions. The questions were divided equally between English and Malayalam, ensuring a balanced focus on both languages. The rounds were designed to test the participants’ knowledge comprehensively in literature and language.
