Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies hosted an insightful one-day talk series by Dr. Mallika on 22 July, 2024. The event featured two sessions catering to different groups of students.

 

The morning session, held from 10:00 AM to 12:45 PM, was dedicated to second-year commerce students. Dr. Mallika began by exploring the intricacies of human mind psychology, providing students with a deeper understanding of how their minds work and the impact of psychological factors on their daily lives. She then delved into stress management techniques, offering practical advice on how to handle academic pressures and personal stress effectively.

The discussion moved on to the topic of mobile phone usage, where Ms. Mallika highlighted both the benefits and potential drawbacks of mobile technology. She emphasized the importance of mindful usage and maintaining a healthy balance. The session concluded with an examination of online games, discussing their merits, such as improving cognitive skills and offering entertainment, as well as their demerits, including addiction and negative effects on mental health.

The afternoon session, conducted from 2:00 PM to 4:45 PM, was attended by second-year arts, science, and IT students. This session mirrored the morning one, with Dr. Mallika covering the same key topics. She began with an engaging exploration of human mind psychology, followed by stress management strategies tailored to the unique challenges faced by students in these disciplines.

Dr. Mallika reiterated the significance of responsible mobile phone usage, encouraging students to be aware of their screen time and its impact on their well-being. The session concluded with a balanced discussion on online games, reinforcing the importance of moderation and making informed choices regarding gaming activities.

The talk series concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to Dr. Mallika for her valuable insights and engaging presentation. The sessions were well-received by the students, who gained a deeper understanding of psychological principles, effective stress management techniques, and the responsible use of mobile phones and online games.
