Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies on November 2, 2024 hosted the Ithihas Talent Hunt, showcasing young talent across multiple disciplines. This time, 370 participants from 27 schools engaged in a wide array of competitions organized by different departments and clubs of the college with a prize pool of ₹75,000. Attendees were treated to a variety of performances, events and interactive displays that highlighted the remarkable talent within the student community.

The programme was officially inaugurated in the Central Auditorium with a formal ceremony. Vice Principal Dr Karuna K., delivered the welcome address. Executive Director Rev. Dr. Devis Chenginiyadan inaugurated by unveiling the promotional video for Ithihas 2024, that set an inspiring tone for the day’s events. Principal, Dr. Joy K. L., provided the presidential address, emphasizing the college’s commitment to fostering young talent. Felicitations were offered by the Finance Officer, Fr. Anto Vattoly, and Merrin Baby, the Chairperson of the Student Council, delivered the vote of thanks.

Each department showcased its strengths and creativity through well-organized, engaging events, ensuring every participant had a memorable experience. With eight unique pavilions set up by various departments and clubs, the atmosphere was lively and diverse, reflecting the collaborative spirit and dedication of all involved. The Commerce and Management department hosted an engaging lineup of competitions, including a Business Quiz that tested participants’ knowledge of market trends and economic insights, a Treasure Hunt requiring strategic thinking, and a dynamic Marketing Game where students devised innovative advertising campaigns.

In Science, students showcased their knowledge and creativity with events such as the Science Quiz and Still Chill, a model-making competition held at Aula Magna. Meanwhile, the Arts department organized a diverse set of activities, including What’s in Your Mind, Malayalam Extempore, and a Photography competition that captured creativity and storytelling through the lens. The CS and IT department offered a tech-focused experience with events like the Type Racer Grand Prix, VR Gaming, as well as a Web Designing competition. The Psychology department hosted events including a photography contest titled Unseen Perspectives, Memory Quest, a memory game, and Psyche on Screen, a movie quiz. The Human Excellence Department was equally involved with their own pavilion as well as in the overall coordination of the event.

A culinary delight to the event was the Cookery Club’s Food Pavilion that featured a variety of dishes for the participants to taste and explore. The Saptasaddassu club of the college organized a spot dancing competition and was one among the highlights of the day. Fun activities like Star Voice, a singing challenge at Hyde Park, encouraged participants to sing songs containing a given word, adding to the day’s lively atmosphere.

In total, the event received positive feedback from participants and attendees. It highlighted the talents of young students across multiple disciplines fostering camaraderie and healthy competition, and thus reinforcing Sahrdaya’s dedication to nurturing talent and creativity.
