Janjatiya Gaurav Divas Celebration
The NSS Unit and IQAC of Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies, Kodakara, organized a vibrant Janjatiya Gaurav Divas to honor the legacy of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, the revered tribal leader and freedom fighter.
The celebration was inaugurated by the Executive Director of the college, Dr. Fr. Davies Chenginiyadan, and presided over by the Principal, Dr. Joy K.L. Adding to the cultural grandeur, students from the Chalakudy Model Residential School graced the occasion with mesmerizing performances, showcasing the richness of tribal traditions.
The program featured authentic tribal art forms, including Paniya Dance, Irula Dance, folk songs, and a short drama performed in the tribal language. Each performance offered the audience a profound appreciation of tribal culture and its artistic heritage.
A special photo exhibition, depicting the history of Birsa Munda and other tribal freedom fighters, further enriched the event by providing a glimpse into their lives and struggles.
Ms. Ramani Rajan, a teacher from the Model Residential School, delivered an inspiring keynote address. The event was graced by the presence of the Vice Principal, Dr. Karuna K., Finance Officer Rev. Fr. Anto Vattoli, and NSS Program Officer Mr. K. Jayakumar, who extended their heartfelt wishes. Assistant Professor Shiji V.K., the program coordinator, delivered the welcome address.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Assistant Professor Ranjith M., another program coordinator. The celebration left a lasting impression on everyone, fostering a deeper understanding and respect for tribal culture and heritage.
