On the occasion of NSS Day, Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies conducted a POST-COVID, SOCIO-ECONOMIC SURVEY named

DISHA. The NSS volunteers assembled in the college Seminar Hall by 9:30 am. The inaugural ceremony of the survey commenced with a prayer song by the NSS volunteers. The programme was followed by a welcome remark by Dr. Mathew Paul Ukken (Principal SCAS). Kodakara Panchayat President Smt. Ambili Soman inaugurated the programme. Dr. Fr. Davis Chenginiadan (Executive Director SCAS) presided the gathering and congratulated all the NSS volunteers who organized the event. The Vice Principals, Dr. Rani M.J, Dr. Joy K.L and Kodakara Panchayat Member Shri Suraj greeted the gathering. NSS volunteer, Anna grace delivered the NSS message. Mrs. Sindhu Thomas, (NSS Assistant Program Officer, SCAS) concluded the event with a vote of thanks.

The NSS volunteers started the survey at 2:00 pm. The volunteers were divided into 7 groups of 5 members each. The students were strictly asked to follow the COVID protocols. The panchayat guides of 16th ward directed the routes to be covered. The survey concerns the postCOVID, HEALTH AND ECONOMIC needs of the people.

The volunteers successfully completed the survey for the day and reached the college by 4pm. Each groups covered 120 houses. A discussion was done regarding the survey. NSS volunteers shared their experience, sorted the data and made a list including the necessities of the people. At 4:30 pm the volunteers dispersed.
