ENNEAGRAM

Enneagram is a model of the human psyche which is principally understood and taught as a typology of nine interconnected personality types. As a typology the Enneagram defines nine personality types (sometimes called “enneatypes”), which are represented by the points of a geometric figure called an enneagram, which indicate connections between the types..The main objective of this add on course was to help students to understand brief overview about Enneagram  and its area of application.The Enneagram is a typology system that describes human personality as a number of interconnected personality types. While it has become popular within spirituality and business disciplines, there has been limited research on its use and it is not widely accepted in the field of evidence-based psychology.

The Enneagram consists of a nine-point diagram. Each point represents a personality type. The Enneagram figure or diagram is made up of three elements. The outer part is made up of a circle, which then contains a triangle and an irregular hexagon.

Enneagram is a department add on course provided to the first year BSc Psychology students by the department of psychology in association with the Institute of Counselling and Transactional Analysis (ICTA), Kochi.  The main objective of this add on course was to help students to understand a brief overview of Enneagram and its area of application. It was a 30-hour programme, distributed as 3 hours/ week (first three hours of every Thursday ). Mr Nelson Diaz and Mr Sebastian Arakal from the ICTA, Kochi were faculty in charge of the programme. The program was started on 12th November  2020. The course was completed on 18th March 2021. And the same agency distributed the certificate for the 43 students on  April 12, 2021. It was provided for the students after the evaluation of the mini-project work at the end of the class.

The feedback was taken from students. They gave satisfactory feedback about the course and mentioned that it will help to understand the behaviour of another person so that communication becomes effective. The students expressed that they are enriched and enlightened by this course.
