Fieldwork is an important part of Geology, it includes mapping rock formations, collecting samples and fossils, interpreting data, and writing reports. The fieldworks were carried out on 12th December 2023 to 19nd   December 2023 for 2nd and 3rd year B.Sc. Geology students of Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies, Kodakara. The field carried out in the southern part of India (Kerala, Tamilnadu, and Karnataka).

In Kerala, the field work is carried out in  Cheruvathur. In Tamil Nadu, field trip was carried out in the Cretaceous of Trichnopoly Peramballur, kallamkurichi limestone mine, Sathanur (fossil wood), Karai badland, Thiruvakarai and Cuddalore sandstone, etc. From this places we collected fossils and rock samples. In Karnataka, we visited Holenarasipur, Chitradurga, and Ingaldal.formation, from these areas we collected mineral and rock samples. The field work ended on 19nd December 2023.
