Hyde Park is famous for its speaker corner and for being the largest park among the central park and the royal parks of London.
Speakers’ Corner in London’s Hyde Park is a traditional site for public speeches and debates since the mid 1800’s when protests and demonstrations took place. Historic figures such as Karl Marx, George Bernard
Shaw, Winston Churchill,Vladimir Lenin and George Orwell were known to often use the area to demonstrate free speech where they mounted soapboxes to speak on the great issues of their day.

Hyde Park – Sahrdaya

Hyde Park session was formally inaugurated in Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies, Kodakara in 2014 under the guidance of the HoD Prof.Verghese Kalliyath. It was open for the students of the college who have good command over English language. It was a well- organized fruitful session in which students spoke on various topics like politics, arts, cinema, contemporary issues and so on.

After a break Hyde Park recommenced in Sahrdaya on 26 th February 2021 by the initiation of the present HoD Ms.Sheena Sarah Winny and the session was inaugurated by the Executive Director of  institution Dr.Fr.Devis Chenginiyadan. Niveditha S.Raju of I BA English and Cera Davis of III BA English talked about Bernard Shaw and Covid 19 Pandemic respectively. It was a fruitful session and an ideal platform for the budding speakers.
