Postgraduate Department of English, Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies, conducted National
Webinar on the topic "Medical Humanities". The webinar was conducted on 23.09.2021 from
10:30 am onward on Microsoft Teams. Dr.Rachel Bari, Professor, Director of Parasanga
Kuvempu University was the resource person. Ms. Sheena Sarah Winny, Head of the
Department officially welcomed all present. The webinar was inaugurated by, Dr.Fr. Devis
Chenginiyadan, Executive Director of the Institution, with an intriguing message on Medical
Humanities. This was followed by a message by Dr. Mathew Paul Ukken, principal. The session
commenced at 11.00 am where Dr.Rachel spoke on the intricacies of medicine and its
association to literature. The session was enlightening for she spoke on how this topic inspired
her. The session concluded at 11:45 am, after which the platform was opened for discussions,
where many participants raised their queries on the topic. Dr. Rachel took keen interest in
answering the queries put forth by the participants. Ms. Metty Joby, Assistant Professor led the
Q&A session and expressed her gratitude to Dr.Rachel. Ms. Roselyn Alex, Webinar Coordinator
officially sounded the note of gratitude. The webinar concluded at 12:15pm. 102 delegates had
actively joined the webinar.
