Inaugural session of the One day regional seminar on Quality Enhancement and
Sustenance organized by Internal Quality Assurance Cell commenced at 9.15am
with a prayer song by Asst. Prof. Annie Faith, Member, IQAC. Welcome address
by Dr.Jenson P.O., Principal, followed. He formally accorded welcome to the
dignitaries, delegates and all in attendance. Rev. Dr. Devis Chenginiyadan,
Executive Director delivered the Presidential Address with quality as the focus. The
seminar was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) M. Manoharan, Director IQAC & former
Registrar of University of Calicut. In his inaugural address, Prof.(Dr.) M.
Manoharan invited the attention of all, to the revised framework of NAAC
accreditation, about which he said, he will elaborate in the Technical Session to
follow. Dr.Rani.M.J., Vice Principal, proposed the vote of thanks. The inaugural
session concluded at 9.30am. Asst. Prof. Maria Joshy was the host of the session.
Technical session 1 followed. Prof. (Dr.) M. Manoharan’s session entitled
“Institutional Accreditation Strategies: Revised Accreditation Framework of NAAC”
commenced at 9.45 am and concluded at 11.15am. Asst. Prof. Sheena Sarah
Winny, Coordinator, IQAC introduced the speaker. The session benefitted all in
attendance as it detailed all the steps involved in the assessment and accreditation
process. Dr. Sandhya Shankar, Asst. Prof., Chinmaya Vidyapeeth, Deemed
University, proposed vote of thanks to the speaker and the session.
After tea-break, technical session 2 commenced. Asst. Prof. Greeni. K.I, Member,
IQAC introduced the speaker. Dr.Jacob P.M, Director, Naipunnya Business
School, Pongam, Koratty presented his experience with NAAC assessment and
accreditation procedure in the session entitled “Accountability: Identifying,
Analysing and Processing Institutional Data” from 11.30 am to 1 pm. Asst. Prof.
Fazeera Razak Hamsa of Ansar Women’s College, Perumpilavu, proposed vote of
thanks to the speaker and the session. Lunch break followed.
The final session entitled “Academic Excellence in Higher Education: A Teaching-
Learning Collective”, presented by Dr. Chacko Jose P, Assoc. Prof & Head,
Department of Economics, Sacred Heart College, Chalakudy, commenced at
1.40pm and concluded at 3.10pm. Ms. Pretty Kiran, HR Manager and Member,
IQAC introduced the speaker. The session focused on the responsibilities of
facilitators in enhancing the learning process. Asst. Prof. Savio Fernandez, Head,
Department of Management Studies & Joint Coordinator, IQAC, proposed vote of
thanks to the speaker and the session. After each technical session, the respective
invited speakers were presented with certificate of appreciation and a memento.
Valedictory session of the seminar with 150 participants in attendance,
immediately followed the third technical session. Certificates were presented to
select participants by Rev. Dr. Devis Chenginiyadan, Executive Director. Vote of
thanks proposed by Asst. Prof. Sheena Sarah Winny, Coordinator, IQAC, formally
concluded the seminar. The participants dispersed after tea.
