On behalf of observing Science Day, SPECTRA 2022, on February 28, 2022, the Department of Mathematics, along with other science departments of SCAS organized ‘Essay Writing’ competition and ‘Calculate the Integral’ competition. Registration was done with Google forms (link: https://forms.gle/xRhWr3UhHCs3GeYu5).
The topic for Essay Writing competition was “Is Mathematics, Queen of Sciences?”. The competition was open to all the students of SCAS. Students were asked to send their entries to [email protected] on or before February 27, 2022. The winners of the competition are:
First : Devika Vijayan, II M.Sc. Clinical Psychology
Second : Sreyas Krishna, II B.Sc. C. S.
The Calculate the Integral competition was also open to all the students of SCAS. The competition was held on February 28, 2022, at Room No. 201 in the Admin Block (II year B.Sc. Mathematics class) at 11.00 a.m. 7 students participated in the competition. The competition consisted of questions to calculate integrals in the stipulated time. The one who did the maximum was declared the winner. The result of the competition is as follows:
First : Chaitanya Krishna, III B.Sc. Mathematics
Second : Smrithi, III B.Sc. Mathematics
Third : Deepthi Thankachan, III B.Sc. Mathematics
The prizes for the competition were given at the official meeting of the SPECTRA 2022, observing National Science Day on March 2, 2022.
