The NSS unit of Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies organized a 7-day camp starting from December 26, 2023, at Sreekrishna Higher Secondary School in Aanadhapuram. The primary objective of the camp was to cultivate and empower the younger generation to contribute towards creating a waste-free and sustainable future. The camp was inaugurated by Director Rev. Dr. Davis Chenginiyadan.
Various activities were conducted during the camp, including the construction of “Snehaaramam,” a beautiful garden, and the creation of useful materials from waste. Programs also involved surveys related to waste management, distribution of vegetable seeds, and “Geevajaalakam,” an interactive session with the community. Additionally, self-protection training was a crucial aspect of the camp.
Distinguished guests such as Dr. V. K. P. Mohankumar, President of Muriyad Panchayath Sree Jose J. Chitiilappilly, and Thrissur Rural Police ASI Smt. Sindu T. K. engaged in discussions with NSS volunteers. The camp concluded by emphasizing the importance of social work and community service to the participating students.
