Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies embarked on its journey to unearth the multi-faceted talents of the students with the online version of its annual arts fete -EL DORADO 2020 -21. The Covid 19 pandemic and its subsequent lockdown have triggered out-of-the-box thinking as the Sapthasadassu decided to organize an online arts fest this time. Along with the impeccable and immaculate attention to academic excellence, the college allocates equal importance to co and extra-curricular activities that hone the budding talents of the students. El Dorado is the annual cultural fiesta celebrating these remarkable talents of the students. The intra-college arts fest -EL DORADO 2020 -21 got off to a colorful start with its inaugural ceremony on 15th January 2021with much gaiety and enthusiasm. The occasion also marked the official inauguration of the Sapthasadassu for the academic year. The event was inaugurated both online as well as offline by various connoisseurs of art. The inauguration ceremony started with an invocation of the almighty by the college choir. Following which the dignitaries on the dais welcomed by Rev. Fr. Sebin Edattukaran, Coordinator of Sapthadadassu.The annual report was presented by Ms.Neethu Nazar, Secretary of Sapthadadassu. The keynote address was delivered by Rev. Devis Chenginiyadan, Exe. Director of SCAS. What followed was the inauguration of Sapthadadassu with the lamp lighting ceremony. The chief guest of the occasion was Mr.Niyas Backer (Kalabhavan Niyas) an eminent cine artist. Delivering his inaugural address, the Guest of Honour, Mr. Niyas pointed out the relevance of arts which not only help to develop the latent talent in college students but establish healthy linkages with the local cultural milieu. The official Teaser of the gala event was launched by Dr.Jenson P.O, Principal SCAS. This marked the beginning of ELDORADO 2020 -21 which was inaugurated through the Online mode by the noted Cine artist Mr. Joju George, who extended his solidarity with arts and its social interactions. The felicitations were delivered by the Vice Principals Dr. Rani M.J, Dr. Mathew Paul Ukken, and Mr. Melwin Wilson fine arts secretary. Ms. SHIJI V.K, Convenor of Sapthadadassu extended the vote of thanks.
