An industrial visit was organized by the Department of Management Studies for the MDC students to the Kerala Agro Machinery Corporation Ltd. (KAMCO), located at Athani, on 26th September 2025. A total of 50 students took part in the visit, accompanied by Ms.Anu c g and sarath john faculty member of the Department of Management Studies. And Department of commerce. The group departed from the college at 9:30 AM and returned by 3:30 PM. Upon reaching the KAMCO plant, the students were warmly welcomed by the company officials. They began the session with a short introductory presentation on the history and operations of KAMCO. Established in 1973, KAMCO is a public sector enterprise under the Government of Kerala, engaged in the manufacturing of agricultural machinery and power tillers. The officials explained the company’s mission to support the mechanization of agriculture and its contribution to rural development. Students were then guided through the production unit, where they witnessed different stages of the manufacturing process including machining, assembly, painting, and testing of agricultural equipment. They were briefed on the use of modern technology, automation, and quality assurance methods employed to maintain efficiency and product reliability.The visit also allowed students to observe the management hierarchy, departmental coordination, and decision-making processes within the organization. The staff explained how procurement, inventory control, production planning, and marketing functions are integrated to ensure smooth operations. Students also interacted with employees and supervisors, which helped them understand the importance of teamwork, time management, and effective communication in achieving organizational goals.Overall, the visit served as a practical platform for students to understand how concepts like operations management, supply chain management, and human resource management are applied in real-life situations. It also gave them exposure to the safety measures and ethical practices maintained within the plant.
