SAHRDAYAM  – A Home for Wayanad


As part of Kerala’s National Service Scheme  initiative to construct 150 houses for families affected by the Wayanad disaster, the NSS Unit of Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies proudly joined this noble mission. Under the leadership of the college’s NSS Unit, students, faculty, non-teaching staff, and alumni worked together to raise ₹4 lakh through the “Sahrdayam” project.The collected amount was formally handed over to the Honorable Minister for Higher Education and Social Justice, Dr. R. Bindu, during a ceremony held in the college’s central auditorium on 24th January 2025. The College Finance Officer, Fr. Anto Vattoly, accompanied by students, faculty, non-teaching staff, NSS representatives, and alumni, presented the contribution.The ceremony was presided over by the College Executive Director, Rev. Dr. Devis Chenginiyadan, while the College Principal, Dr. Joy K.L., extended a warm welcome to the gathering. Thoughtful remarks were delivered by the Vice Principal, Dr. Karuna K.; the Head of the Malayalam Department, Dr. Swapna C. Kombath; and the College Union Chairperson, Merin Baby. The Honorable Minister, speaking on behalf of the Department of Higher Education, lauded the generosity and compassion displayed by everyone involved in this meaningful initiative. She emphasized the significant impact such efforts have on the lives of those in need.
