REPORT
Two-day workshop on airport training was organized by department of Management for BBA second semester students at Cochin International Airport on December 10th and 12th , 2025. The workshop aimed to provide students with comprehensive knowledge about airport operations, management, and the aviation industry. The program included theoretical training sessions conducted by expert faculty members and practical exposure through a guided tour of the airport terminals. Students arrived at Cochin International Airport and were welcomed by the organizing committee. They completed the registration process and were briefed on the day’s activities.
The first day session was led by Mr.Basith an experienced airport operations manager. He provided an overview of airport operations, including ground handling, passenger services, security protocols, and air traffic control. The session was interactive, with students actively participating and asking questions. Post-lunch, students were taken on a guided tour of the International and domestic terminal. They observed check-in counters, baggage handling systems, security screening, and boarding gates. The tour was led by Mr. Bhasi (Lead safety Officer) , who explained the processes in detail and answered students’ queries.
The second day session was conducted by Assistant Professor Mr. Soorej, a renowned expert in airport management. he covered topics such as Air cargo management (both international and domestic) airport planning and development, financial management, regulatory frameworks, and the importance of sustainability in airport operations. Students gained valuable insights into the complexities of managing an airport. Second day after lunch students were again taken on a guided tour to the Cargo terminal. They observed different packing of baggage’s and cargo for air delivery, observed the dangerous goods, customs procedures, and duty-free shopping areas. The tour was led by Mr. Seethu Madhavan, who explained the processes in detail and answered students’ queries.
