Exhibition Cum Sale & Training on Alternatives

As part of Wings – the Women’s Day Commemoration Week, an exhibition-cum-sale was organized, showcasing Vanasree products by the Forest Department and up cycled products by Kadambari at the Central Auditorium. The event, Vanasourabham, was officially inaugurated by SCAS Finance Officer Fr. Sibin Vazhapilly, who marked the occasion by purchasing the first product. He remarked, “This initiative is highly beneficial in helping students understand tribal products and their unique flavors.” The event received an overwhelming response, resulting in total sales of Rs.14,490/-, with Rs.10,195/- from Vanasree products and Rs.4,295/- from Kadambari upcycled items. The success of the initiative brought immense joy to everyone involved.
In addition to the sale, a hands-on training session was conducted on crafting paper bags and decorative cloth work at the Seminar Hall. Dr. Sheeba M.B., Dean of Science, presided over the session, while Dr. Karuna K., Vice Principal, inaugurated the programme. The welcome address was delivered by Programme Convener Aradhika T.V., and the vote of thanks was given by Ms. Roshna Roy. Kadambari Director Smt. Rajasree V.V. led the training session, guiding students through the creative process. Our students actively participated, showcasing remarkable creativity and dedication in crafting numerous handcrafted bags. Dr. Joy K.L., Principal, visited the session, admired the students’ work, and expressed his appreciation. These beautifully crafted bags were later used as prize packaging for our OMC sisters, adding a meaningful and sustainable touch to the event.
