NSS Unit 291 organized a two-day programme to commemorate World AIDS Day, aimed at creating awareness and promoting a healthy and responsible lifestyle among the public and students. The programme featured a series of meaningful activities such as an expert talk, Red Ribbon tying, a poster exhibition, and the distribution of AIDS awareness leaflets at Manasagramam 16th Ward, Puliparakkunnu, ensuring active community participation and social engagement. The second day of the programme included an educational visit to the Vaidyaratnam Ayurveda Museum, Ollur, followed by a seminar on the theme “Arogya Jeevanam,” highlighting the importance of holistic health and preventive care. The sessions helped the volunteers gain insights into traditional healthcare practices and the significance of maintaining a balanced and healthy lifestyle.

The World AIDS Day observance was inaugurated by Dr. Finto Francis, Senior Consultant (Obstetrics & Gynaecology), Marian Thresia Hospital, Kuzhikkattussery. His inspiring and informative talk addressed various aspects of AIDS, including prevention, awareness, and the importance of eliminating stigma and discrimination. The programme was presided over by the College Principal, Dr. Joy K. L., who emphasized the role of youth in spreading awareness and fostering a compassionate society.The programme concluded on a meaningful note, leaving a lasting impact on the participants and reinforcing the values of social responsibility, empathy, and service—core principles of the NSS.
