World AIDS Day Observance – “Sanjeevani”

The National Service Scheme Unit 291 and IQAC of Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies, Kodakara, organized the World AIDS Day observance titled “Sanjeevani”. The programme aimed to raise awareness about AIDS, promote preventive measures, and encourage voluntary blood donation among students.The event commenced with an inaugural ceremony led by Rev. Dr. Devis Chenginiyadan, the Executive Director of the institution, who officially inaugurated the observance. The session was presided over by Dr. Joy K. L., Principal of the college. The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Sajith Vilambil, Professor of CAP & Transfusion Medicine at Government Medical College, Thrissur, and District Nodal Officer for Blood Transfusion Services, Thrissur. His address was both enlightening and impactful, shedding light on the medical, social, and emotional dimensions of AIDS and the significance of voluntary blood donation. One of the highlights of the programme was the release of the Voluntary Blood Donors Directory, an initiative aimed at creating a network of dedicated blood donors. The directory was released by Dr. Sajith Vilambil and received by the Finance Officer, Rev. Fr. Anto Vattoly. Dr. Karuna K., Vice Principal of the college, extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries and the audience. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Archana A. B., Assistant Programme Officer of NSS Unit 291.The observance witnessed active participation from students, faculty members, and staff, making it a meaningful and successful event in spreading awareness and fostering a sense of social responsibility
