The session commenced with a welcome address by the convenor of IIC, Mr. Rajesh Krishnan followed by a formal introduction of the guest speaker. Ms. Anu Sarath began her address by narrating her journey — starting with minimal capital, facing social and financial challenges, and gradually scaling her business through hard work and strategic thinking. She emphasized the importance of:

  • Embracing small beginnings without fear.

  • Cultivating a growth mind set.

  • Overcoming gender-based and societal challenges.

  • Learning from failures and setbacks.

  • Building strong customer relationships and team culture.

She also provided practical advice on managing finances, marketing a start-up, and staying resilient in the face of uncertainty. The talk concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where participants posed questions related to entrepreneurship, start-up funding, marketing strategies, and work-life balance.

Programme Objectives:

  • To motivate students or early-stage entrepreneurs by showcasing how humble beginnings can lead to significant success with perseverance and vision.

  • To encourage gender inclusivity in business by showcasing the success of a female role model who broke barriers and succeeded in a competitive space.

  • To cultivate a growth mind set and entrepreneurial thinking among attendees, helping them recognize opportunities in challenges.

  • To recognize and celebrate the achievements of a local or regional woman entrepreneur, making success feel more relatable and attainable to the audience.
