The NCC Unit of Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies, Kodakara, attached to the 23 Kerala Battalion NCC, Thrissur, actively participated in the “Round the Round – Anti Drug Campaign Walkathon” organized as part of the anti-drug awareness initiative. The programme was conducted on 12 October 2025 at 07:00hrs at Thekkinkadu Maidan and Swaraj Round, Thrissur.
The walkathon was organized by the NCC unit of the college in collaboration with the NSS unit, aiming to spread awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and to encourage the youth to adopt a healthy and responsible lifestyle.
Approximately 40 to 50 participants, including cadets and volunteers, took part in the walkathon with great enthusiasm and commitment. The programme was graced by eminent dignitaries including Shri. K. Rajan, Minister for Revenue and Housing, Shri. Nigeesh A. R, Assistant Excise Commissioner and Vimukthi Manager, Thrissur, and Shri. Shafeeq Yousaf, District Coordinator, Vimukthi Mission, Department of Excise, Thrissur. The dignitaries addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of collective action in eliminating drug abuse.
The walkathon commenced from Thekkinkadu Maidan, proceeded around the historic Swaraj Round, and concluded at Thekkinkadu Maidan. Participants marched with banners and awareness messages encouraging the public to say no to drugs and to support the ongoing anti-drug campaign.
