The NCC Unit of the college observed the Disaster Management Day Observance on 13 October 2025 in connection with the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction. The programme was conducted in collaboration with the NSS Unit and IQAC of the college.
The inauguration of the programme was held at 09:00hrs in the College Central Auditorium. The event was formally inaugurated by Shri K. G. Pransingh, Deputy Collector (Disaster Management), Thrissur, who addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of disaster preparedness, awareness, and the role of youth in responding effectively during emergency situations
The programme witnessed the participation of NCC cadets, NSS volunteers, and members of the IQAC. The initiative aimed to equip the participants with practical knowledge and awareness regarding disaster management and emergency response.
Following the inaugural session, a practical training session was conducted in the seminar hall by officers from the Kerala Fire and Rescue Services. The session included demonstrations and training on fire safety measures, the use of fire extinguishers, basic rescue techniques, rope rescue methods, safe evacuation procedures from buildings, and basic first aid techniques. The training provided participants with valuable hands-on experience and practical knowledge on how to respond effectively during emergencies.
The programme concluded successfully with active participation from the cadets and volunteers, enhancing their awareness and preparedness to handle disaster situations responsibly.
