Postgraduate Department of English, Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies, Kodakara, ventured out to release it’s first ever Audiobook – Risorgimento, on 30th June 2021 at 3:30 pm via online mode. This endeavour was in line with the trend of observing June as the month of Audiobook Appreciation. The students of BA English and MA English responded to the initiative with great zest and the event garnered huge participation. Dr. Sandhya Shankar, Assistant Professor, School of Linguistics and Literary Studies, Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth, Ernakulam, was the invited speaker and guest of honor. The event commenced with the prayer led by Mr. Ashlin Mathew of II MA English .Mr.Ajish Paul George, Assistant Professor & Programme Coordinator, Department of English, briefed the event. Ms. Sheena Sarah Winny, Head of the Department of English, welcomed the gathering. The meeting was presided over by Dr. Mathew Paul Ukken, Principal, SCAS who also addressed the event with his kindful yet eloquent remarks on the literary renderings by the students compiled as the audiobook. This was followed by the official release of Risorgimento-Audiobook June 2021 by Dr. Sandhya Shankar, who shared her views on the audio narrative trends and threw light on the various technical aspects of narration. Dr.Rani M. J. Vice-Principal, SCAS did the felicitation. The session concluded with the vote of thanks conveyed by Ms. Shero C. S., Assistant Professor, Department of English. The event was compered by Mr. Bharat Krishna of I BA English.
