As part of the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign, an initiative announced by our honorable Prime Minister, the NSS unit of Sahardaya College of Advanced Studies organized a papaya cultivation program on 18th July 2024. The program aimed to raise awareness about the importancEk Ped Maa Ke Naam PAPAYA CULTIVATIONe of nature conservation and encourage students to engage in sustainable practices. The event began with a formal inauguration by the college’s executive director, Rev. Dr. Devis Chenginiyadan. He symbolically planted the first papaya plant, highlighting the significance of planting trees as a step towards environmental sustainability. Following this, NSS volunteers also planted papaya plants across the college campus. Student volunteer secretary Aryanandha took a leading role in organizing the event, ensuring smooth coordination and active participation from all volunteers. The initiative not only provided practical experience in cultivation but also educated students about the ecological benefits of planting trees, such as carbon sequestration, soil conservation, and biodiversity enhancement.
