The PG Department of Commerce organized an expert talk on 6th December 2025 at Room No. 23 exclusively for commerce and finance students. The session was coordinated by Ms. Jancy T. T., Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce. The resource person for the programme was Mr. Geevar Thambi (CMA, CSCA, CPB, EA), a distinguished professional with extensive experience working with global finance firms, including the Big 4 and major U.S. multinational companies.
The session began with a silent prayer, after which Ms. Jancy T. T. welcomed the resource person and the gathering, emphasizing the importance of gaining global perspectives in today’s competitive finance industry.
Mr. Geevar Thambi delivered an insightful and inspiring session titled “Careers in Global Finance: Roadmap to Working in the Big 4 and U.S. Multinationals.” He explained the evolving global finance landscape, high-demand skills, international certifications, and career pathways
that enable students to access global opportunities. He also discussed essential competencies such as analytical skills, digital finance tools, professional ethics, and continuous learning. Students benefitted from real-world experiences, case discussions, and practical career guidance.
The session included an interactive segment where students clarified their doubts regarding professional courses, global certifications, internship opportunities, and the recruitment process in multinational organizations. The talk concluded with a formal vote of thanks, expressing deep gratitude to the resource person for his valuable insights and motivation.
