The Department of Human Excellence of Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies (Autonomous), Kodakara;  organized an inspiring and skill-enriching session titled From Idea to Empire: Entrepreneurial Skills” on 6 November 2025, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the Seminar Hall. The event was designed to empower students with the knowledge and confidence needed to transform simple ideas into meaningful entrepreneurial ventures. Students were encouraged to see themselves not just as learners, but as future innovators capable of creating value for society. The tone for the session was set with an emphasis on creativity, self-belief, and practical skill development. 

The resource person was Ms. Carolin Antony, Associate Head of Department of Human Excellence,  delivered an engaging presentation that introduced students to the core concepts of entrepreneurship. The talk covered the process of idea generation, refinement, and validation, while also emphasizing the mindset required to become a successful entrepreneur. Students were guided on how to view everyday challenges as potential business opportunities and were exposed to real-world examples that illustrated the entrepreneurial journey. Essential competencies such as creativity, risk-taking, strategic planning, communication, and problem-solving were explored in depth, helping students understand what it takes to build and sustain an enterprise. 

A significant highlight of the programme was the presentation segment, where students showcased the entrepreneurial ideas they had developed from the skill-based workshops conducted on 3rd, 4th, and 5th November. These hands-on workshops covered digital marketing, baking, simple chemical preparation, and hand embroidery, equipping students with practical expertise. 

           Using this newly acquired knowledge, students designed innovative business concepts and presented them confidently during the session. This segment not only boosted their confidence but also demonstrated how skill development can directly inspire and shape entrepreneurial thinking. Throughout the programme, the atmosphere remained interactive and enthusiastic, with students actively participating in discussions, asking questions, and sharing their creative ideas. Many expressed interest in further developing their concepts and exploring opportunities for real-world implementation. 

The Department of Human Excellence reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a culture of innovation and empowering students with the skills needed for the future. Overall, the event was highly impactful, successfully bridging the gap between skill acquisition and  entrepreneurial application. It inspired students to think boldly, explore opportunities around them, and take the first step toward transforming their ideas into empires.
