The Inauguration of Placement Cell Activities 2025–26, titled Career Kickoff Program, was held at Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies (Autonomous), Kodakara, on July 11, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. in the Central Auditorium. The event marked the official commencement of the college’s placement initiatives for the academic year 2025–26 and aimed to prepare students for successful career opportunities ahead.
The program began with a warm welcome address by Ms. Carolin Antony, Placement Cell Officer, SCAS, who highlighted the significance of placement training and the college’s continuous efforts to enhance students’ employability skills. Rev. Dr. Devis Chenginiyadan, Executive Director, SCAS, delivered a motivational message emphasizing the institution’s vision of nurturing competent and value-based professionals. This was followed by a message from Mr. Joy K. L., Principal of SCAS, who encouraged students to make the best use of the resources and opportunities provided by the college’s placement cell.
The official inauguration and inaugural address were delivered by Mr. Brijesh John, International Career Mentor, who shared his expertise on global career opportunities, essential skill sets, and professional development strategies. His address motivated students to align their academic goals with industry expectations and to develop the right mindset for career success. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks and the National Anthem.
Following the inaugural ceremony, plenary sessions were organized for the final-year students. Commerce and Management students (B.Com and BBA) attended a one-and-a-half-hour training session at the Decennial Hall from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., while Arts and Science students attended their session at the Seminar Hall from 11:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Both sessions focused on resume writing, interview readiness, communication skills, and workplace adaptability.
Program Objectives:
The primary objectives of the Career Kickoff Program were to formally launch the placement activities for the academic year 2025–26, create awareness among students about the importance of career preparation, and equip them with the knowledge and confidence required to face campus recruitment drives. It also aimed to introduce students to industry expectations, enhance their employability skills, and motivate them to take proactive steps toward achieving career goals.
Program Outcomes:
The event successfully created a sense of enthusiasm and direction among the students regarding their placement journey. It enhanced their understanding of the recruitment process, improved their confidence levels, and inspired them to focus on continuous self-improvement. The plenary sessions provided practical guidance on employability skills, thereby strengthening students’ readiness for the upcoming placement season. Overall, the Career Kickoff Program served as a powerful and inspiring start to the Placement Cell Activities 2025–26, reaffirming Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies’ commitment to holistic student development and career excellence.
