The International Conference Vanijya Parivarthana 2026 commenced with a meaningful inauguration ceremony held on Wednesday in the garden area of the campus. The conference was inaugurated by Rev. Dr. Devis Chenginiyadan, Executive Director, by inaugurating the Green Wall as a symbol of sustainability and environmental responsibility. On the occasion, the Principal, Dr. Joy K L, signed the Sustainability Oath, which was subsequently signed by other delegates, faculty members, and students, reflecting a collective commitment toward building environmentally responsible institutions and promoting sustainable practices.

The pre-conference inauguration ceremony was held on 18th February at 12:45 PM in the serene garden area of the campus. The Green Wall inauguration marked the official commencement of the two-day international conference and symbolized the institution’s dedication to environmental stewardship. The Sustainability Oath signing ceremony further strengthened the spirit of shared responsibility among the academic community ahead of the formal conference sessions.

The first day of the conference began with the inaugural ceremony at the Seminar Hall. The programme commenced with a prayer, followed by the welcome address delivered by Dr. Karuna K, Vice Principal and Head of the PG Department of Commerce. The Presidential Address was delivered by Rev. Dr. Devis Chenginiyadan, who highlighted the growing relevance of ESG principles in business and academia.

The conference was formally inaugurated by Dr. Femina Zyed, Professor, HR & OB/Management, Royal Roads University, who delivered the inaugural address on the theme “Building ESG Ready Organisations: The HR Playbook for Skills, Culture and Accountability.” She emphasized the importance of integrating ESG values into organizational culture through leadership, accountability, and skill development.

The Conference Proceedings Journal was unveiled by the Executive Director, and the first copy was presented to Muhammed Ashar A, Executive Director – Audit, EY. Felicitations were offered by Rev. Dr. Joji Kallingal, Dr. Joy K L, Prof. V. J. Thomas, and Fr. Sibin Vazhapilly. The inaugural ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Hanna Joseph.

The second day of the conference continued with insightful sessions by distinguished speakers from academia and industry. Mr. Jackson David C, Founder Partner, Navion Wealth, delivered a session on the role of Indian corporates in social development beyond CSR spending, emphasizing responsible corporate citizenship. Dr. G. Parimala Rani discussed the transition from Fintech to Big Tech and the ongoing digital transformation wave.

Sessions at the Decennial Hall included Mr. Babu K A’s deliberation on ESG in India as compliance or commitment, Mr. Hasif’s talk on technology as an enabler of ESG, and Mr. Ashwin R Pisharody’s session on sustainable and green business models. Paper presentation sessions continued, providing a platform for researchers to present innovative ideas and findings. The Case Study Competition was conducted in the afternoon, enhancing analytical and problem-solving skills among students.
