“Linkage with Innovation Ambassadors” – A Talk and Hands-on Session on Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and the Startup Ecosystem.
Objective of the Event:
To introduce first-year students to the concepts of innovation, entrepreneurship, and the startup ecosystem, and to encourage their active participation in the Institution’s Innovation Council activities.
As part of the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) initiative, a session titled “Linkage with Innovation Ambassadors” was conducted at Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies (Autonomous) On 30/7/25. The event was led by Ms. Carolin from the HED department, who also serves as the college’s and IIC Innovation Ambassador and the program was inaugurated by Dr. Fr. Davis Chennipedayan. The session was designed to foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among first-year students from diverse academic backgrounds such as Computer Science, Commerce, Arts, and Management.
The event began with an engaging talk by Ms. Carolin, where she introduced the students to core concepts related to innovation, design thinking, problem identification, ideation, prototyping, and the entrepreneurial mindset. She elaborated on the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and creative thinking in solving real-world challenges. Special emphasis was placed on the Startup India initiative, National Innovation and Startup Policy (NISP), and the role of IIC in higher education institutions.
Following the session, students participated in a hands-on group activity where they formed teams and worked on innovative solutions to practical problems. Each group identified a challenge and presented a conceptual idea for addressing it, promoting teamwork, leadership, and analytical thinking.
