The National Conference on “Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Psychology” was hosted by the Postgraduate Department of Psychology at Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies (Autonomous), Kodakara, Thrissur, on February 5th and 6th, 2026. This 2 days event, brought together leading experts & students to explore the intersection of technology & mental health. The event commenced with prayer, a welcome speech by Mr. Suresh A. K (HOD, PG Department of Psychology), a presidential address by Rev. Fr. Dr. Devis Chenginiyadan (Executive Director, SCAS), an inaugural function; lamp lighting by Dr. Raheemudheen P. K, a Clinical Psychologist from the Govt Mental Health Center, Kozhikode, principal’s message by Dr. Joy K L, felicitation by Dr. Karuna K, vote of thanks by Sr. Jessy George, and then sessions began with Dr. Raheemudheen P. K, who discussed “AI and Psychological Intervention,” followed by Dr. Sandhya Aravind C. A from Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, who presented on “AI Tools and the Changing Nature of Research”, Dr. N. Chandar Kumar from Hindustan College of Arts & Science addressed “AI and Psychological Testing,” & Dr. Tony P. Jose from VIT University, spoke on “AI & Mental Health”. Following a session of both online & offline paper presentations also happened in between, the event concluded with an Open Panel Discussion and a formal valedictory function. This final ceremony included a report of the conference by Ms. Aparna Satheesh, the presentation of the Best Paper Award, and certificate distribution by the college leadership. The conference closed with participant feedback and a vote of thanks by Ms. Adna Peius.
