PARA SPORTS MEET – REPORT

The Department of Physical Education, Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies, in association with Dharsana Service Society, successfully organized a Para Sports Meet on 22nd August 2025 at the college campus. The event aimed at promoting inclusivity, physical fitness, and empowerment among differently-abled athletes through competitive sports. The event commenced with a formal inaugural ceremony. The dignitaries present included Fr. Solomon kadambattuparambil representative from Dharshana Service Society, Rev. Dr. Devis Chenginiyadan (executive director, SCAS), Fr. Sibin vazhapilly (finance officer SCAS), Dr. Joy K L (principal SCAS), Dr. Karuna K (vice principal SCAS), Dr. Paul Chacko (HOD, Dept. Physical education SCAS) and college management, faculty members and students coordinators. The program began with a prayer, followed by a welcome address. The dignitaries emphasized the importance of sports in building confidence, resilience, and inclusivity among persons with disabilities. A variety of events, indoor games were held, ensuring equal opportunities for participants to showcase their talents. Volunteers and student coordinators extended wholehearted support, ensuring smooth conduct of the competitions. The atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm, encouragement, and celebration of abilities. The winners were honored with medals and cash award, appreciating their determination and achievements. The program concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the collective efforts of organizers, participants, and supporters who made the event a grand success. The Para Sports Meet at Sahrdaya College of advanced studies (autonomous) not only provided a platform for showcasing athletic skills but also spread a strong message of inclusivity, empowerment, and social responsibility
