The Postgraduate Department of English, Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies (Autonomous), Kodakara, Thrissur, successfully organized a cinematic fashion show titled “Portal to Vogue” on 14th January at 3.30 PM. The event was conceived as a creative platform to blend cinema, fashion, performance, and visual storytelling, offering students an opportunity to reinterpret cinematic narratives through fashion. The programme witnessed vibrant participation from student teams who presented fashion sequences inspired by films, film characters, cinematic eras, and narrative aesthetics. Each performance demonstrated originality in costume design, choreography, music selection, and thematic coherence, transforming the stage into a visual “portal” of cinematic imagination.
The event was evaluated by a distinguished panel of celebrity judges, including: Abhishek Jayadeep, Model & Influencer, Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 6, Owner of Braven Fashion Hub. Dhanya Shyju, CEO of Fedans Modeling Company, Vice President of IMFA, and Title Winner of Malayalee Manga Dubai. Shine Tom Chacko, Actor and Performer, known for his intense and unfiltered roles, was the chief guest of the programme. The Participants were ICCS College, Thrissur; Vimala College, Thrissur; Sree Krishna Adithya College, Coimbatore and St Thomas College, Thrissur.
The fashion show was conducted in association with ANZ Modeling Company, under the guidance of Ms. Misha, Director of ANZ Modeling Company and Vibranz Media. The event was generously supported by sponsors and partners. MYOP Perfumes (Hilite Mall, Thrissur)
served as the Gifting Partner, while Glade Sports Hub (Thrissur, Aluva, Kochi) and Hangyo Ice Cream extended their support as sponsors. The prize money sponsorship was provided by Amritveni, and Ather–Autostarke Energy (Luxon Group) partnered as the Co-Sponsor. Attractive cash prizes were awarded to the winners, with ₹20,000 for the First Prize, ₹10,000 for the Second Prize, along with category awards worth ₹10,000. The winners were selected based on creativity, cinematic interpretation, costume aesthetics, confidence, coordination, and overall impact.
The programme was coordinated by Ms. Tresa Saritha Varghese, Faculty Coordinator, and Ms. Gayathri Ravindranath, Student Coordinator. Their meticulous planning and teamwork ensured the smooth execution of the event. “Portal to Vogue” stood as a grand celebration of creativity and interdisciplinary expression, reinforcing the Department’s commitment to fostering artistic talent, confidence, and cultural engagement among students. The event was widely appreciated by the audience, judges, and participants alike, marking it as a memorable and successful initiative of the PG Department of English.
