The Department of Social Work at Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies(Autonomous) organized a one-day workshop on “Social Work Practice in Addiction Setting” on 17th February 2024 at Decennial Hall from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM. The workshop aimed to enhance students’ understanding of professional social work interventions in addiction settings and to provide practical insights into prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation strategies.
The programme began with a prayer by Ms. Oshin K.L., followed by a welcome speech delivered by Fr. Bipin, First Year MSW student. The technical session was led by Mr. Shafeeq Yousaf, District Coordinator, Vimukthi Mission, Department of Excise, Thrissur, who shared his expertise and field experiences related to addiction prevention and rehabilitation. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Oshin K.L. A total of 31 students participated in the programme.
