Report on Onam Celebration – Sravana Pournami
The Onam celebration of Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies (Autonomous), Kodakara, was held with grandeur under the title “Sravana Pournami”. The event was jointly organized by Saptasadass, NSS, and various clubs and cells of the college. The celebration was inaugurated by the Executive Director, Rev. Dr. Devis Chenginiyadan, who conveyed the festive message of unity, joy, and sharing. The programme featured a variety of cultural and traditional competitions that reflected Kerala’s rich heritage. Major attractions included the Traditional Fashion Show, Vanchippattu Malsaram, Pookkalamalsaram, and the spirited Vadam Vali which drew enthusiastic participation from students. Adding a meaningful dimension to the celebration, the NSS unit distributed Ona Kodi (Onam dress) to differently-abled brothers from the community, embodying the true spirit of Onam. The programme was a vibrant blend of culture, tradition, and social responsibility, making Sravana Pournami a memorable celebration for the entire Sahrdaya family.
