On September 5th, 2024, the Human Excellence Department of Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies, along with the students, organized the Teacher’s Day celebration, titled Guruvandhana. This event was held to honor and express gratitude toward the faculty for their dedication and contributions to the growth of students. Teacher’s Day in India is celebrated annually on September 5th to mark the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a respected scholar, teacher, and the second President of India.
The celebration at Sahrdaya College began with an address by the Executive Director, Fr. Devis Chenginiyadan. He spoke about the significant role teachers play in shaping the future of students and society. Following his address, the Deans, Heads of Departments (HODs), and Associate HODs were honored by the Executive Director. Principal Dr. Joy K.L., and Vice Principal Dr. Karuna K. also addressed gathering.
Student representatives Sherin Roy from 2nd MSc Psychology and Aleena Vincent from 2nd BBA delivered speeches, expressing their heartfelt gratitude to the teachers for their guidance and support throughout their academic journey.
A graceful dance performance by the students was presented as part of the cultural programme. The event concluded with the distribution of cards and bouquets to all teachers, as tokens of appreciation for their hard work and dedication.
Guruvandhana was a successful event, reflecting the respect and gratitude students hold for their teachers at Sahrdaya.
