TECH MASTERS TALK SERIES II – “GITHUB ESSENTIALS FOR DEVELOPERS”
The Department of Computer Science and Application, Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies, organized the TechMasters Expert Talk Series – II titled “GitHub Essentials for Developers” for first-year BCA, BSc Computer Science, BSc IT, and BSc AI students. The session was conducted on 12 December 2025 at 1:30 PM in the Seminar Hall. The programme was led by Ms. Jyotsna E, Assistant Professor, Sahrdaya College of Engineering and Technology, who served as the resource person. The objective of the programme was to introduce students to modern software development practices with a focus on version control systems, particularly Git and GitHub, which are widely used in both academic and industrial environments.
During the session, the resource person explained the fundamental concepts of Git and GitHub, including repository creation, version tracking, branching, merging, and collaborative workflows. Emphasis was placed on the importance of maintaining code integrity, managing project versions effectively, and working efficiently in team-based development environments. The talk aimed to build a strong foundation for students in source code management while encouraging them to follow best practices in software documentation and project maintenance. The interactive nature of the session enabled students to gain clarity on real-world development processes and the role of GitHub in professional software projects.
